Dilmah tea comes from a dedicated family business in Sri Lanka. The purpose of Dilmah founder Merrill J. Fernando is to bring the consumer back to real tea of the highest quality, grown in an honest, ethical manner.

From sowing to the manual picking, drying and packaging, everything is in the hands of the artisan company that stays true to the traditional methods of cultivation and production of tea. Thus, at harvest only the top two leaves and the bud of the tea plant are being picked where the real, full tea flavor is concentrated. The tea is processed and packed immediately after picking.

Dilmah stands for fair and ethically grown tea. Dilmah's motto is "Business as a matter of human service." Much of the earnings of the company are being given to projects that benefit the people of Sri Lanka.
